Bing,Bang,Bonk! – SEO frustration revisited

And there we were,anticipating the google dragon to spread his wings and hit us with another breathe full of fire named “Penguin”. The flames receded… I looked around, and the house still stands, with rank intact and maintaining my SERP position I felt quite confident, at least for a small time. From out of nowhere,although maintaining all white hat standards, I’m dropped from a constant page one on the many facets of the new hybrid Bing!…. to page 3. This equates to about 1/3 of my online business lost at such a crucial time of the year. Myrtle beach is alive and humming with tourism at the moment, at least for half of the year, while the other half is our elongated season of the ghost, or so it seems, as you almost get excited mid January when you see cars on the road.My business thrives on tourism,as I do very little business with locals,although some are loyal, it is not enough to sustain a living year round.
It seems Bing has reached into the coffers and decided the gold didn’t quite pile up high enough, paving the way for paid ads while simultaneously shoving the organic listings to the rear. I spend an incredible amount of time doing my own SEO for my website and with great results from the big 3 (Google,Yahoo,and Bing)until now.
Google does have an ethical balance of organic vs. paid listings via adwords and other advertisement venues, I’m just waiting for Bing to do the same.
